It received its name in 1968, when the monument of Skanderbeg was placed beside it, replacing the statue of Joseph Stalin. The square is surrounded by the Palace of Culture, Hotel Tirana, the National Museum, and the Bank of Albania. The 2010 urban plan was later revived with minor changes, such as greener areas around the square, an underground parking facility, and the use of stone materials sourced from all regions of Albania. In 2018, Skanderbeg Square was declared the Best Public Space in Europe, triumphing among 279 projects from 32 competing countries. Today, the square stands as a symbol of Tirana\u2019s transformation \u2013 a beloved place for all of us. Contracted for the completion of all electrical works related to the lighting system of the square and its underground parking area.
